WWFM Fall Drive Last Chance Donate Now!

Although WWFM – The Classical Network’s Fall Membership Campaign is officially concluded, you can still technically make a gift to the station on our website, wwfm.org, until 11:59 EDT and have it count toward the rapidly dwindling fiscal year. You can’t take it with you, you know. It’s October, and every non-profit in creation is seeking your support. Amidst all the hurly-burly, I hope you will consider the importance of classical music in your life. If you listen to the radio, and you enjoy the variety of the music and the creativity behind its presentation, just remember, it’s all publicly funded. People in the community, people just like you – perhaps you yourself (and I hope it is so) – have seen to it that the music you love continues to enrich the airwaves. You are the life-blood of public radio. With Halloween right around the corner, you might want to do something about it, if you haven’t already, before it is too late. This is it. The final day of The Classical Network’s end-of-the-fiscal-year fund drive. We are still a long, long way from $80,000. Can you help us out? If you don’t want to do it for the music, the creative programming, the specialty shows, the local hosts, or the enrichment of the community, won’t you do it for yourself?

If you love classical music, and it is important to you to be to be able to hear it on your radio, computer or phone, please consider tossing us a few bucks. Can you spare $10 or $20 a month? Or even $5? As with a good many things in life, the more you put into it, the more you stand to get out of it.

There may be other outlets for classical music, in terms of satellite, webstreaming or downloads, but you will be very hard pressed to find anything like our unique mix. We are passionate, we are committed, we are personable, we are thrifty, we are resourceful, and, when we can afford it, we are local.

Support Classical Music Before Winter Arrives

The day of reckoning is upon us!

October is membership month at WWFM – The Classical Network, and while we have been soft pitching for weeks, today we take to the air waves to rake up the stragglers like so many autumn leaves.

We’ve affectionately dubbed October Procrastinator’s Amnesty Month. Believe me, we know what it’s like to put things off. Often, it’s not so much procrastination as it is simply not having enough time, the needs of the moment generally foremost in our thoughts. But with autumn upon us, it’s time to be like the ant, not the grasshopper, and to fortify ourselves against the winter.

Think of the cozy months ahead, and how we warm your cockles around the clock with music from Abel to Zelenka. You can also warm yourself with our “What Makes It Great” mug. Named for Rob Kapilow’s popular show, the mug answers its own question. Turn it around, and it on the reverse you’ll find the exclamation “You!” It’s because of you that we are able to pay for programs like “What Makes It Great.” We are only as good as our member support. The mug is yours for a contribution to The Classical Network in the amount of $75. If you commit to a sustaining membership of $5 a month, we’ll send it to you for $60 (charged in monthly installments, of course). That $15 in savings will buy you a lot of cider.
