Paul Newman sticks it to The Man in “Cool Hand Luke” (1967), with music by Lalo Schifrin. Tim Robbins makes good use of a Rita Hayworth poster in “The Shawshank Redemption” (1994), with music by Thomas Newman. And an all-star cast, led by a barbed-wire hopping McQueen (again), flee their Nazi captors in “The Great Escape” (1963), with music by Elmer Bernstein.
