Zorba’s Dance Celebrating Theodorakis on WWFM

Zorba’s Dance Celebrating Theodorakis on WWFM

by

Did you say… DANCE??

Today is the 94th birthday of Mikis Theodorakis. Theodorakis is probably Greece’s internationally most celebrated composer, with dozens of concert and dramatic works and over 1000 songs to his credit. Concurrently, he has remained politically active, variously jailed, exiled, and elected to the Greek Parliament. Never afraid to speak his mind, Theodorakis remains a controversial figure. But he has brought a lot of beauty to the world. And everyone loves to dance, right?

Join me this afternoon for a ballet inspired by Theodorakis’ most famous film score, “Zorba the Greek.” It will be among our featured works, from 4 to 7 p.m. EDT. A man needs a little madness… cut the rope and be free, on WWFM – The Classical Network and wwfm.org.

Everyone’s doing the dance!
