    Sci-Fi Tie-Dye Corner Anniversary

All fashion concerns aside, sci-fi has been the tie that binds us.

Join Roy and me in celebrating one year of “Roy’s Tie-Dye Sci-Fi Corner.” Forged in time of Covid – and originally titled “Remembering Science Fiction Television Shows of the 1960s and 1970s” (truth in advertising if ever there was) – this hour or two (or more) of sci-fi movie/TV banter – and your commentary – has become something of a weekend tradition.

Tomorrow night, Roy and I will chat about our early sci-fi experiences, and then we’ll throw it open to you, our viewers. Weigh in with your own favorite sci-fi memories, and your favorite “Sci-Fi” memories, and tell us what you’d like to see. We’ll lubricate your thoughts with slides of some of the year’s special guests and special moments (like the “Rollerball” Super Bowl Party and the “Darby O’Gill” Drinking Game).

“Tie-Dye” never says die. Join us for a Roy’s Tie-Dye Sci-Fi Corner anniversary celebration, livestreamed on Facebook, this Friday evening at 7:00 EDT!

Facebook Images are Back Ross Amico

I am happy to report that my blood sacrifice to the Facebook gods must have had its desired effect, since I am once again able to upload images to my page every which way. Look forward to plenty more inane illustrations of the kind you’ve always come to expect from cuddly Classic Ross Amico.

  • Facebook Photo Uploads Not Working Help

For some reason, Facebook has not been allowing me to upload photos to my posts since Friday. The only way I am getting images at all is by sharing links to other pages. Can anyone help me out? Or do I have to hurl my laptop against the wall?

  • Facebook Fail Ennio Morricone Tribute Delayed

Evil, time-sucking Facebook isn’t allowing me to post with a photo today, so I am putting this up as a place-holder until I can get it to accept my Ennio Morricone 90th birthday tribute. In the meantime, I shake my fist at you, Facebook!

  • Flu, Facebook, and Forties Film

    Flu, Facebook, and Forties Film

Sadly, I’ve come down with some sort of flu. My sleep was disturbed for most of the night by the recollection of George Lloyd’s Symphony No. 6, which I played yesterday morning on WPRB. It kept repeating incessantly in my head. So anything I post today about the newspaper article or “Picture Perfect” will be all cut-and-paste from the original documents.

I just wanted to send a quick note, not so much to garner sympathy, but to follow up on my post of a couple of weeks back, in which I complained about not being able to see anyone else’s pages anymore, not even when using the station computers. Well, yesterday, someone must have thrown the lever again, because now I’m back to roaming free on Facebook. Most peculiar.

Typing this on my back on the couch. Happily, TCM is showing all black-and-white Jean Muir movies from the early ‘30s. The perfect backdrop to a long winter’s snooze.
