Facebook Problem Business Page Can’t See Posts

What’s going on? I’ve noticed over the past week or so that I haven’t been able to see anything on any of your pages. Has Facebook updated its privacy settings or something? Is anyone else having this problem? Since I am set up as a “business,” as opposed to as an individual, I can’t “like” anyone unless they too are set up as a business. I can’t even check to see what Marvin Rosen has planned for this week’s show, or read Kenneth Hutchins’ hourly ruminations on Frank Sinatra. I’m going through withdrawal over here!

FACEBOOK! From Hell’s heart, I stab at thee!

    Laptop Charging Woes Holiday Delay

This is not very seasonal – nor very musical, I’m afraid. I experienced a problem this morning with my computer not receiving a charge. Fortunately, the problem was resolved by something as simple and as comparatively inexpensive as replacing the cord, but it meant I didn’t get to writing my newspaper article until well into the afternoon. Hence, the 7 p.m. Facebook post.

    Happy Holidays, everyone!

    Owl Jolson Richard Strauss Oops

Don’t you hate when you write a time-sensitive Facebook post, and then you realize that you had your days mixed up and that you’re actually a week off? That’s precisely what happened to me when writing my appreciation of Richard Strauss to mark the 150th anniversary of his birth on June 11. This is a hazard of working in radio and as a journalist. Everything always has to be ahead.

Anyway, since I’ve already wasted enough time this morning, here’s Owl Jolson.

He loves to sing-a about the moon-a and the June-a and the spring-a.

    Pets Music and Facebook

Has anyone ever set up a Facebook account and not posted a picture of their pets within a week? Personally, I think I’ve exercised remarkable restraint.

I don’t know about you, but my animals are great music lovers. My dog, Corgi, a foxy lass of indeterminate breed, was a great opera lover. She used to fall asleep with her head against the speaker while listening to the Metropolitan Opera.

The imperious Hannah (a.k.a. Ki-TEH) also enjoys vocal music, though for a while she and I were working our way through all the Haydn symphonies.

She definitely prefers music to silence during the long hours I spend writing on the computer, preferably typing with one hand while rubbing her belly with the other. Until she’s had enough, that is. She can be a harsh mistress.

I don’t know Lena S. Lee, but this is a sweet tribute. Here she is with Samuel Barber’s “The Monk and His Cat.”
